Update: Black Swallowtail Caterpillars

I recently posted a photo of some Black Swallowtail caterpillars on the parsley in our kitchen garden. Look at them now!

The host plants for Black Swallowtails include parsley, dill, fennel, carrots, and Queen Anne's lace.

  1. I found Black Swallows on my only fennel bulb ( left over from last springs garden) one was rather large the rest were small (do not know how I didn't see them prior). Ran to the nursery and purchased the last 3 dill plants (and I had parsley growning on patio) when I got home ALL were gone! What would of eaten them? They look so much like monarchs I thought they would b safe, just found a slew of babies today on the fennel (next to the 3 pitiful dill plants. Hate to see them dissappear too.
